Chairperson Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), Mr. Patrick Bitature on Thursday hosted the Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga of the Interreligious Council of Uganda (IRU), as well as a team from State House and UPDF’s Operation Wealth Creation; at his country home in Ibanda, where he launched his latest initiative named Project 500K.
The project under the Patrick and Carol Bitature Foundation aims at empowering 500,000 Ugandan youth to be employable or run successful businesses, by changing their mindset and building their skills.
According Project 500K Director, Nataliey Bitature, the project which started in Ibanda is set to be rolled out countrywide and is hooped to “set up the next generation of business leaders to succeed and grow Uganda’s economy.”
Nataliey says a lot of young Ugandans are looking for a way to get rich quickly, yet what they really need is management skills, financial literacy, and a more productive mindset.
After an hour of knowledge sharing, Patrick Bitature together with the area Member of Parliament Eng. John Byabagambi led the delegation from Kampala, to Rukiri sub-county where they visited his and locals’ farms.
During the agricultural tour, he addressed journalists and locals, telling them that there is no shortcut to wealth.
He advised the farmers to adopt some of the latest farming techniques to maximize production by for instance mixing lime and manure.
